Lenka Formánková, Ph.D.

Researcher at the Institute of Sociology

Lenka Formánková, Ph.D. is a researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences and at the Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University in Brno, both in the Czech Republic. She is a designated expert on family policy and labour market relations in the Expert Commission on Family Policy at the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
In her academic work Dr. Formánková focuses mainly on gender aspects of employment and labour market relations, work and family reconciliation and welfare state policies and new forms of partnership.
She publishes her work in international peer-reviewed journals (e.g. Czech Sociological Review; Gender in Management; Journal of Contemporary European Studies; Journal of Social Policy and Administration) and co-authored books “Working paths of women in the Czech Republic” (SLON, 2011), “One´s own way? Life course in a late modern society” (SLON, 2014) and “Rethinking Gender, Work and Care in a New Europe: Theorising Markets and Societies in the Post-Postsocialist Era” (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015).
