Paul Vanderbroeck

Leadership expert

Dr Paul Vanderbroeck is a Leadership Expert specialized in the success of women leaders in complex organizations and the success of such organizations by leveraging female talent. Through research and experience he has identified four obstacles to gender diversity. He has developed a set of methods to remove such obstacles.

Paul specializes in working with senior women leaders, leadership teams, and high potentials in complex organizations in the private and the public sector worldwide. He also works at top ranking business schools such as IMD and INSEAD.

Paul frequently publishes on the subject of gender and leadership. His article “The Traps That Keep Women from Reaching the Top and How to Avoid Them” won an Excellence Award. He has recently published “Leadership Strategies for Women: Lessons from Four Queens on Leadership and Career Development” (Springer 2014).

Paul had the opportunity to observe up close what works and what doesn’t work in complex organizations as an HR Executive in Royal/Dutch Shell, General Motors, Georg Fischer and UBS. In the course of his career he has designed several gender diversity strategies. Finally, he has been working for more than 10 years as a leadership expert with senior women leaders and high potentials in a wide range of sectors.

Paul is married to a woman who has her own successful leadership career as a senior civil servant. He is father of two children and currently lives in Geneva.
