Tackling gender-based violence across the world

Romina Boarini - OECD

Vibha Bakshi - Film director / Producer

In this session, the OECD will share the results of their latest study on gender-based violence in the world.

Following her award-winning documentary, DAUGHTERS OF MOTHER INDIA, Indian journalist and filmmaker Vibha Bakshi questions how Indian society is changing after the 2012 events, of the horrific rape and murder of a 23-year-old medical student in Delhi and the mass protests that ensued and hit worldwide headlines. Although an Anti-Rape Law was passed and radical changes were made within the police force and the judiciary, gender violence
still persists. Did anything change?
