Sylvie Verleye
Storytelling coach, Simply Talking
Sylvie Verleye started in 2000 as trainer in communication topics like interviewing skills, meeting skills, customer care and mainly presentation skills. Very soon she realised that her true passion was presentation skills. These first years she learned the skill how to be a trainer by giving training herself and observing other trainers. As presentation skills was her favorite topic she read lots of books in this topic and started focussing more on this skill. In the beginning her focus for a training in presentation skills was on bodylanguage. As she was frustrated with the constant overloaded slides she very soon added a focus being PowerPoint – strenght and pitfalls of the tool. Gradually she started coaching more people for real presentations and she noticed that yet another focus was added: how to deal with stress.
In 2009 she started interviewing 30 women in top positions to understand how important presentations had been to get to that level. This resulted in her first book ‘Stilte, ik Spreek’ that was published end 2009. She kept on interviewing CEOs and VPs to understand what they specifically expect from a presentation. This will lead to her new book ‘storytelling in business presentations’ Fall 2015. Due to all these interviews an important focus in her current training and coaching is ‘how to tell your story’ and ‘pitching’.
Sylvie loves to present herself though helping people to get their message across in a natural, confident style is her true passion.
