Katrien Goossens

HR Global Diversity & Well-being Officer Euroclear

Katrien Goossens is Global Diversity& Well-being Officer at Euroclear group. Euroclear is the financial industry’s trusted provider of post-trade services. It provides settlement, safekeeping and servicing of domestic and cross-border securities transactions from bonds, equities and derivatives, to investment funds. Euroclear connects over 2,000 financial market participants across the globe and ensures that all securities transactions are processed safely and efficiently.

Katrien started to work at Euroclear’s headquarters in Brussels 13 years ago as a technical writer. Then she went on to head the Euroclear group Technical Documentation team before moving on to Continuous Improvement & Transformation as internal change management consultant in 2011. Building on her extensive experience in both communication and change management, she was then asked to join Euroclear’s HR division in 2014 to develop and lead the company’s global diversity & inclusion and well-being efforts, sponsored by the Euroclear executive team.

Katrien holds a Master’s degree in Germanic Philology (English-Dutch literature and linguistics) and a Master-after-Master degree in Cultural Studies, both from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. During her studies, she spent time in the United Kingdom (Westminster College, Oxford) and Spain (Universidad Del Pais Vasco, Vitoria-Gasteiz) as part of an Erasmus Exchange programme. She also took part in several leadership development programmes at INSEAD and the HULT-Ashridge Business School. Katrien is a Belgian national and speaks 5 languages. She is very active around gender diversity on social media (Twitter, LinkedIn) and a regular speaker at corporate events (e.g. most recently Cisco-Mastercard Men Advocating Gender Equality event).
